In need of inspiration
For my 3d modeling class, I need to come up with a character to model. I haven't made too much progress yet but I've been looking at various video game characters, like this fighter girl from Fire Emblem, for inspiration. I've been thinking of doing something piratey...we'll see.

Sounds hard, but fun. Are there any pirate characters you have in mind to draw ideas from if you do decide to go in that direction?
ReplyDeleteI think it is amazing how 3D modeling can be done these days. I remember seeing a friend playing with Adobe and making there 2D image turn into a 3D image simply by clicking a couple buttons. He then rotated the image and it was no longer on one plane(or in other words, no longer 2D).
ReplyDeleteMy Mechanical Engineering Class required me to make 3D parts last year and it was fun seeing how easy and simple it is to make a round ball or even a plastic camera case. I loved it!!
Please post updates on the progress of your 3D character on this blog. It would be fun to see the weekly progress in getting a picture to come 3D.
I've always been interesting in 3D modeling, and found it interesting how new art mediums come about with new technologies. Would love to see some progress pictures on your character. If you're looking for something piratey, have you looked at Skies of Arcadia?
ReplyDeleteThanks for showing so much interest in my character guys! I will definately post updates as I get further along in the creation process. Thanks for the advice too!
